Here's some answers to questions received.  Hope this helps.

Q: I’ve seen some great paper ornaments lately. I’d like to make some, but don’t know how!

A: Paper ornaments are a hot trend this holiday season. Beyond decorating trees, they are being used as décor items around the home, as accents on wrapped gifts, and as fun, family projects. Of course, there are so many different ornaments to choose from. Luckily, I have a couple of gorgeous, and easy, ones to share. I got these ideas from Stampin’ Success, a magazine that demonstrators receive free from Stampin’ Up! It’s one of the great perks of being a demo! Here are instructions for Paper Bulb Ornaments and Glitter Snowflake Ornaments. Enjoy!

Paper Bulb Ornament:
• Ornaments are made up of 9 strips of paper that are 1” wide. The center strip is 8” long. Each curved layer is 1” longer. Make the ornament strips from plain or stamped card stock or from a selection of your favorite Designer Series Paper. You’ll need strips in the following sizes:
1 1” x 8” strip for the center
2 1” x 9” strips
2 1” x 10” strips
2 1” x 11” strips
2 1” x 12” strips
• Pierce holes centered in the end of each strip, about 1/4” from the end, using the Paper-Piercing Tool (#126189) and Stampin’ Pierce Mat (#126199).
• Layer the strips so the top ends are even and so they are stacked in this order: 12”, 11”, 10”, 9”, 8”, 9”, 10”, 11”, 12”.
• Place a Silver 1/8” Mini Brad (#122941) through the pierced holes. Spread prong to close brad and hold layers together.
• Thread the holes at the bottom of the strips through a Silver Mini Brad causing the longer layers to curve out.
• Thread a piece of Linen Thread (#104199) or Baker’s Twine (page 172) through the center of the ornament and slip it up between the strips so it wraps around the Mini Brad. Knot thread around the brad to hold in place and then create a loop to hang the ornament.
• Optional: Cover brads with buttons, Pearl or Rhinestone Jewels, or ribbon.
• Make ornaments of different sizes by starting with a shorter 8" x 3/4" center strip and adding 1/2” for each layer from the center.

Glitter Snowflake Ornament:
This super-fast ornament can be made two ways.

My Digital Studio:
• This option allows you to make snowflakes in any size you wish. Use the Snowflake Punch in My Digital Studio. Size Snowflake Punch as large as you want.
• Print to create a template. Cut out template.
• Trace onto the back of Glimmer Paper (available in Silver, Red, and Champaign).
• Cut out by hand.
• Create ornament from a single snowflake or sandwich 2 snowflakes back-to-back so both sides are finished. For a 3-D ornament, score 3 snowflakes in half, fold, and adhere backs together.
• Use Linen Thread (#104199) or Baker’s Twine (page 172) to hang ornament.

Big Shot:
• This option is faster since it doesn’t require cutting snowflakes by hand, but it only makes 3 ornament sizes. Die cut Glimmer Paper using Snow Flurry Bigz Die and the Big Shot.
• Create ornament from one or two layers, or make a 3-D ornament as described above.

Now let's get started for next year :)

Aren't these just absolutely beautiful in all its glitter and sparkle?  These cards were done by some of my club members - Laurie, Kristie and Sara.

Thanks so much for sending them to me.  I really appreciate that you thought of me during this holiday season.

Have a wonderful holiday!

Hi, Everyone,
Aren't these the cutest ever!  It's peppermint patties sandwiched in there.

I used the Stylin' Snowfolk stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Some punches used are:
scallop punch
1 3/8 circle punch
1 1/4 circle punch

My coworkers and family members are sure to love these.  I'll put out a little dish of these for my guests.

Thanks for visiting with me tonight!

Hi, Everyone,

Well, I'm already late with my promise to get one Christmas card done a week.  This is for Week 2.  I'm going to have to step it up a notch but I haven't given up yet.

This card is for the Deconstructed Sketch No. 35 challenge.

I used the Merry Medley Chipboard pack from SU for the tag.  I'm going to try and use these more for my Christmas cards since I don't have enough of them to hold a class with.  All I did was glued on my cardstock and then cut around it.

Visit below for products used.  Thanks for visiting with me.

Hello, Everyone,
Well, this year I got so behind on my crafting that I wasn't able to get my Christmas cards done.  So I never sent any out.  Me, the card lady.  How dare I?

I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions, but I actually made a promise to myself, and now I need your help, too.  I'll be posting once a week a Christmas card, and guess what?  I'm already behind.   I'm hoping by making it known to you all my intentions so that I'll actually follow through with this resolution.

Well, here's the first one.  I'll post in a few days a second one, and then I'll be on track.  I'm hoping by posting my Christmas cards to you all will keep me on the straight and narrow :)

See below for some details on this card.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

Hello, Everyone,

I'm finally back to doing a few cards for Christmas.  I've been creating a lot of 3d items, so it's nice to get back to some cards.

We'll be making this card in our club this week coming up.  It's really cute, I think!

If you'd like to become a member of my long-distance clubs or local clubs, just click here for more information.  I'll be starting new clubs in January.  It's a great time to start.

Hello, Everyone,

I've been getting a lot of questions on how I created this technique with the oval and textured background so I thought I'd show you a video.  The key is to have the right layering.  It's dependent upon the thickness of your chipboard template, what tab you use on the Big Shot, and how many cutting plates you use.  I think I've covered all the variabilities.  You just have to try it different ways until you come up with the formula that works for your machine.  I tried five different ways, so it does take a little patience.

Thanks for all your questions and comments.  I really appreciate it.

Linda

Hi, Everyone,
This is for Marisa's challenge over at Soul Scrappers.  Create an invitation using a digital program or traditional invitation.  I stamped the tree on the white and then used Vellum on top in which I stamped "You're Invited" and the rest of the lines for where, when, what, etc.

Now I've gotten a head start on my invites for Christmas Eve.  I love being ahead of schedule.

Thanks for visiting with me.

Hello, Everyone,

Here's the crimped diamond technique.  These cards were probably the quickest I've ever made a card.  The stamp set just went so well with this technique.  I didn't have to think about it at all.  That's very rare.  It usually takes me an hour or two to design a card.  I love it when it happens like this.  Well, anyways, here's two cards I used with this technique.

I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks.
Linda
